Audit and accounting firm
The one-million-row FEC, with no extra license
Let auditors analyze trial balances and FEC files, even beyond one million rows, with no paid connector and no extra license.

Context
For each client and each financial year, the auditor receives a general trial balance and the file of accounting entries: the FEC, the statutory file in France. Both have to be analyzed.
The problem
An FEC can exceed one million rows: 105 MB measured. Too big for an attachment, too big for a list. And buying an extra connector or license was out of the question.
What we built
An application where the auditor opens an engagement: one client, one financial year. A drop space is prepared for them. They drag their workbooks into it, with several sheets if needed, then click “I've dropped my files”.
An automation then takes over:
- it checks the files;
- it sorts them by client and by period;
- it archives the previous set;
- it refreshes the dashboard;
- it posts a notice on Teams.
A morning retry for anything that failed. And a check of the setup.
The dashboard has six pages and eighty-nine indicators, on the trial balance and the entries. Everything is delivered as a kit: the firm imports it itself, with no paid connector at all.
Result
Six automations tested on seven scenarios, with the expected figures. Application published on 5 October 2026. On the first real test, on the demo data set: 33,006 rows loaded into the dashboard.
Zero paid connectors, zero extra licenses: Microsoft 365 and Power BI, that's all.
For your IT team: Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Office Scripts, Power BI, Teams
- Hosting: inside your Microsoft 365. If an outside tool is useful, it is named and you decide.
- Accounts: a service account of your own for the automations.
- Permissions: inherited from your Microsoft 365 groups, nothing separate to maintain.
- Licenses: announced before we start, with the exact cost.
- Handover: documentation, user guide, quick reference; no proprietary code.
